Our goal is to provide temporary care and shelter for stray, abandoned and relinquished animals, and to place as many as possible into responsible and caring homes. We also work with major animal refuges like Dogs Trust  to create awareness and support for the humane treatment of all animals.

Although our registered name is NCHPS, we are more commonly known as 'Brysons' - after our founders the late Bill and Marion Bryson. Our registered charity number is 227361.

We never, ever destroy a healthy animal unless under veterinary advice.

Rehoming

Can you give a happy home to a needy animal? We believe that rehoming from a shelter is the best way to choose a loyal companion. So take a look at our current animals who are in desperate need of a good home.

Helping in other ways

If you cannot rehome an animal just yet, you can always support us in other ways. It costs over £250,000 each year for the refuge to continue its work. We receive no government funding and so are completely reliant on the generosity of people like you. For just a small annual donation, you can sponsor an animal; you can also make a donation at any other time - no matter how small;  or become involved with the animals by dog walking, cat cuddling or helping with fundraising.
